In addition, Natalie’s fiancé’s mother is coming to stay at the inn, adding to Natalie’s challenges. When Gwen’s art mentor is found dead in his home, Natalie and Gwen, convinced it wasn’t suicide, begin to investigate. Cozy Maine Mysteries

I have read all the books in this series. i enjoy the characterizations and the plot does move at a good pace. She does reuse the same conflict in many of the books that being danger in Smuggler's Cove. It would be a good idea to create some other conflict that is water-related. It becomes redundant.

Another delightful read

I have enjoyed reading this entire series from the beginning. The setting is great, who hasn't thought about running a bed and breakfast on occasion? Of course, without all the murders. But it also includes recipes for the delicious foods Natalie whips up between her investigations.
In this setting, innkeeper Natalie is concerned when her niece, Gwen, a talented artist, is being asked to change her style by an art agent for an upcoming show. Worries abound for Natalie, from a possible loss of her beloved inn to the sudden appearance of her future mother-in-law. Tossed into this mix is the murder of another islander. A chill settles over the cozy inn that threatens Natalie, her relationships with friends and loved ones, and the holiday preparations.
This is a true 'cozy' series, you can almost see the inn in your mind's eye, smell the salt tinged air, and the wood smoke from the fire in the fireplace. Natalie has to be the most organized innkeeper on the planet, whipping up scrumptious treats between running the inn, keeping up with her relationships, particularly with her fiance, John, and solving murders. But it's entertaining and lots of fun.
