About the Author
Leonard Peikoff is the preeminent Rand scholar writing today. He worked closely with Ayn Rand in New York City for thirty years and was designated by her as heir to her estate. He has taught philosophy at several places, including Hunter College and New York University. Dr. Peikoff is the author of The DIM Hypothesis, The Ominous Parallels, and Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand. He grew up in Western Canada and now lives in Southern California.

Oustanding and lucidly written.

In his usual style, Peikoff writes on an important topic in the clearest of fashion, with prose that flows naturally and clearly. I am half-way through the book and have found more than a few jewels to guide writing and speaking, especially in regards to delimitation of material and exclusion of extraneous material that can only confuse listeners and detract from the main points. If only all academics wrote as he does, education would be an absolute lark for anyone that enjoys reading. If you reject Peikoff merely because of his association with Ayn Rand, I'm afrain you just don't "get it".

Logical communication is a lost discipline

Conversations that are clear, objective and based on a philosophical discussion with facts is eroding in our society. Peikoff brings methods to keep conversations and speaking on track to the subject. To avoid misunderstanding Peikoff methods, one should have a developed knowledge of reason and logic. Some understanding of philosophy is also a prerequisite. Although the book is clearly written, it takes study and the reader will be rewarded with better speaking, writing and controversial skills.
